I am a firm believer that women should support women. So when it came to my birthday this year, my family and I ensured that we used vendors that were not only local (to Mumbai) but also founded by amazing women!

All the vendors made my birthday truly special and deserve a shout out. You can find out about them in the pictures below.

BIRTHDAY VENDORS

Bedroom Balloons

Bandra based @balloonblushh installed the most beautiful rose gold happy birthday sign above my bed, customised a rose gold balloon and placed some pastel pink balloons all over my bed - this set up made for the perfect instagram photoshoot!

Living room balloons

@BalloonBlushh worked with me for weeks to make my balloon aesthetic come alive! I sent them pictures of what I wanted and they searched far and wide to find the pastel pink, lilac and rose gold balloons to match my concept. It took them 3 hours to install a beautiful balloon mosaic in a 29 formation, wall arch and floating balloons, which are hanging from the ceiling. The founder @anayaamarwahaa installed all balloons personally.

Living room flowers

I often struggle to find flower arrangements in the dimensions I require to fill my living room coffee table. However, @bageechadesign always knows what I want and the size I need, so I use them for every important event. I gave them a colour scheme and they put together this unique arrangement. Isn’t it just stunning!

Dining room flowers

Kemps Corner based @bageechadesign continued with my pink and purple colour scheme and created this beautiful arrangement for my dining table. They didn’t have white vases so they hand painted them to get the aesthetic that I wanted. They knew that I love pink roses and that these are difficult to find in lockdown/monsoon so they ordered the flowers a week in advance - now that’s what you call service!

Birthday cake

This signature chocolate and hazelnut cake made by Shirin Adenwala was truly the most scrumptious chocolate cake that I’ve ever eaten! Even though it took us a few days to consume, it didn’t dry out and tasted just as good as it did the day it was delivered. This is a MUST TRY cake, suitable for any occasion.

Italian cream cake

On my 21st birthday I went on a family trip to Capri in Italy where we had the most amazing Italian cream cake. It was SO GOOD that I literally had been dreaming of eating this cake again. When I told Shirin Adenwala about this, she said this wasn’t something she had ever done before, but she would try to make it. She put a twist on the original coconut and cream by filling the centre with fresh blueberries - it was DIVINE!

Gourmet Hamper

For the first time ever, @gaiagourmet by Chef Chinu Vaze , designed a bespoke lockdown birthday hamper and delivered it to my Bombay based friends for my birthday zoom call.

The hamper included cocktail ingredients, scrumptious snacks and delicious birthday cupcakes by @thebakerist.

At midnight, my friends lit the candles on their cupcakes and we all made a wish together! It was so special.

DIY cocktails

Inside the @gaiagourmet hampers were separate ingredients so that my friends and I could make cocktails together on my birthday zoom call. We made two cocktails designed by @mrbartenderfay with @strangerandsons gin and @hapusagin. They were so tasty!

Hamper giftbox

While the inside of the hamper was curated by @chefchinuvaze of @gaiagourmet, the lining and outside of the box was decorated by Nikita of @giftstellall. As you can tell by this blog, I love the combination of grey, light pink and white, so Nikita created a ribbon and imprinted silver foil on the box to dress it up. It looked so pretty that some of my friends and I kept the box and now store keepsakes in it.
